Sharpest Dungeon will be a roguelike dungeon crawler with adult content. Fight, seduce or dominate your way through every level. Your playstyle will decide which abilities you can choose and your behavior in the story. You can download the demo right there.
This is the first build and the game is in an early state, so expect a few bugs and missing content.
There are currently 4 sex scenes to explore, but with the help from Iron-Blade, we will get the rest done soon and polish the old ones.

I laughed more than I should have, when heat-balled enemies squashed the bugs in their way. Mostly because of the sound effect.
Any progress made? Haven't seen activity in a while, and this game has my interest.
Sorry for the late response. Most my updates are getting posted on my discord server, which is patron only ATM. I rarely look on itch.io or patreon. There is a second level (the cave, with new tiles n stuff), with some new enemies (slime,rat,batgirl), but there is no new version yet. Many things are not working as I want them to and some animations are not finished.
how do you dominate the enemies? i tried grabbing when they are knocked them but nothing happen
You are doing it right! Not all enemy's have an animation and a "DÖHDÖH" sound should happen, when u grab one, that has no animation for now. Just keep trying, maybe u just missed the right moment, or enemy.

Hello! I'm super interested in this game, and besides being a dedicated content creator you also seem to be just a genuinely awesome person.
I know that it's probably WAY too early to be asking something like this, considering the original game hasn't even been completed yet and it would probably take a lot of work, but is there any potential of seeing a mobile version in the future?

Im interested to get the game to as many platforms as possible
and will also try to get this done before the game is finished.
My next target is HTML5, so people can play it in a browser. If the mobile device can play HTML5 games in a browser, this should do it for some people already.
Well for some reason my game freezes in HTML5 and only the music continues...
Also I need to buy different licenses for GameMaker to export the game to different platforms like android/ios/xbox etc.
But when the support grows and the game runs in a browsers, I will export it to mobile platforms to.

I'm one of the people who unfortunately can't play the game as-is, mostly due to the fact I cant afford a PC (^~^;) so I'll be looking forward to the day that its released for the mobile platform! Keep on being great ;3
Is there a list of fetishes you plan to include? I'd really like to see if there's at least one straight anal or DP scene planned.
Game-wise, I'm liking it so far! I think all my concerns have already been commented, and I can't remember them all right now anyways. The only thing I would add is that too many of the level-up rewards are stat bonuses. Hopefully there'll be more things like the Heat Ball move! Maybe less powerful though.

There is not really a list of fetishes for the game. I will try to keep it 50/50 with male/female, but there will also be some other's like gynomorph, tentacle monsters or machines. I guess there will be at least one straight anal scene and more DP scenes.(Also because I need oral scenes for some abilities)
I will do more active abilities, but not more than the passive ones. Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of ideas for active abilities, but they are not all easy to make.

Ah, when I say "Like the heat-ball move" I really just mean "active ability." Be it a ranged attack, a dodge (or parry) maneuver, or... Well, you get the idea.
There'll probably be a lot of scenes just for heat-ball alone. I'd have to be crazy to suggest each ability add a unique scene for every enemy!
Just played my first three runs and needed to get my initial opinion out. I love it, I played thisrtcasym and loved the difficulty of the game, yours give the same vibe (obviously intentionally as you said). The graphics range from great to bad, the scenes are amazing, the sprites are amazing, the environment is that of a 14 year olds rpg maker game quality. The toppled hit box of the lizards seemed non-existent. (Looking at the photo currently at the top of my screen right now makes me think they were actually toppled, just stunned or something.) The game play skill level is my favorite, every time I die I think "That's total bull.. and also completely my fault." The attack has an arc (when I stand below a box and swing right then the box breaks (side note: the crate graphics are good), the arc doesn't hit enemies though. After I died on my third run I remembered a dream I had (like déjà vu, or pre-cognitive dreams if you believe in them like I), that is always really cool. I really hope you continue work on this game because it has high potential. I saw you took some of honestguyopinion's opinions to heart like adding the skip button for scenes, which by the way uses the heat ball cast if you have the perk. To sum up: Improve environment graphics (except crate, it's good), I'm kinda confused about how to topple the lizard (also is his attack dodge-able or is hiding behind a wall and waiting for you chance the only option? Also sometimes he hit me through crates and walls.), It's hard but fair except maybe the swing arc not working (and attacks seem to only hit one target at a time, even when multiple are in range), I played this years before in a dream so that was cool, you can take constructive criticism which is very epic on your part, I will continue to play and probably write more comments in the future. Unrelated but I cant figure out how to use this websites text box to go back and add indents and paragraph breaks so... :/
Edit: Might have been harsh on the graphics, even still I believe the wall, water, green... toxic water, and floor tiles should be improved. I like the graphics for the spike traps, pillars, broken pillars, and water fountains. I haven't been past the first floor yet so I am forming my opinions on partial information. I like this game and respect the effort you put in.
Edit 2: Finished the game, yay! I wrote this twice already but my internet hates me so I'm gonna speed through this. You can farm sub exp with weasel. Get in room with just weasels, get knocked over, skip animation, don't get up, animation plays again, skip it, infinite exp. Sometimes I lost health, sometimes I didn't, sometimes the game broke and soft locked. Add a border around the water maybe, so it's not stone brick straight to water. Water doesn't look bad. It'd be cool if you could hit an enemy with heat ball then interact with the two for a scene. I'm convinced the lizard doesn't have a toppled hit box, I can't get dommed by the archer. The archer always gets stuck right next to me, like his path finding is broken. I had more jotted down in a notebook, but I misplaced it. Maybe I'll be back to finish my thoughts. For now though I'll just say goodbye, thanks you for the game, keep up the good work, and have a wonderful day.

I will try to answer to everything you pointed out.
Some of the sprites are much older than others, so yeah they don't look that amazing. Maybe I will use some "free to use" tile sets in the future, to also save some time. I will not rework them ATM, because I'm focusing on new content first.
Enemy's can only be toppled when they are stunned, same goes for the protagonist. The lizard archer can't topple the player and the four-legged lizard can't be toppled right now, because the animations aren't done.
If you try to, they should give u a sound instead, like in legend of Zelda when something doesn't work.
The hit box of the sword attack goes pixel perfect on the sword and swing sprites and it should be possible to hit multiple enemy's at once with it.
Its intended that the swing goes also a bit to the top, when attacking left or right.
The heatball ability should not be cast while in erotic animations or menus.
Oh to make it clear, everywhere, where I write "it should"
or "shouldn't it should not.." I will look into again, to make sure it works correctly.
It should not be possible to farm exp from the weasel, because every time they topple the player, he gets damage. But I guess not enough, especially not when they're still plenty heal items left. (or he get's no damage for...>.<")
I didn't think that through annnd think I will implement a limit of sub/dom skill points, that can be received from every type of enemy.
It would definitely be cool to have threesome's with heatballed enemy's, but that would multiply the sprite animation work in crazy numbers and I'm focusing more on new enemy and levels.

Thanks for clearing up how the topple works, I was pretty confused. As for the four legged lizard I had started to think that was the case.
One of the things I had jotted down in my (now missing) note book was that the sword attacked functioned, I'm just hot garbage. Based on your wording it seems you put a lot of work into making sure it functioned correctly, I hope I didn't cause you any concern.
Oh! I just remembered somethings. 1. Okay so I was hoping exploration would become more rewarding in the future, no big deal just a thought. 2. One time my armor bar got to around half and every time I gained armor it would show it went up for a frame, and then go back to half.
I understand that the threesome heatball would be a lot of animation work, maybe something for the future though, no rush. I don't want to come across like I'm demanding it, but I feel like it might feel that way.

I'm not mad! hehe... No need to feel sorry. I wrote everywhere that I want feedback and can take it. Even if I worry too much sometimes, it feels like a good kind of worry when it's because of my game.
The armor thing is weird. I will try to reproduce the issue.
Exploring the dungeon will get more rewarding in the future. I have already implemented special and super special rooms, they are like the secret and super secret rooms in binding of isaac, but right now they just look like normal rooms.
In the future there will be some funny/lewd scenes or power ups and stuff.
I'm open to all ideas and dont worry if it sounds demanding, all ideas/suggestion do in some way, but no one can demand anything, it's my game. :P
There will be other abilities in the future that cause erotic scenes to happen. Maybe they will be useable on heatballed enemy's.

That's a good question.
The thing is, that the player did not beat the enemy in any way, so they are still there.
But u gave me a good idea. I will make a passive ability that does exactly that. Something in the sub skill making the enemy so exhausted, that they can't continue fighting. So that they lay around or disappear or something like that.
Now I just need a lewd name for that skill...

"Power bottom?" "Too much to handle?" "Gratitude?" Whatever name you choose will likely be determines by what EXACTLY the skill does.
If it, like, permanently topples an enemy, then my suggestion is "too much to handle." And on aother note, it would be a good way to farm dom EXP without being totally broken (not that it's hard to farm dom EXP currently by just toppling enemies). Heck, it might even make pacifist playthroughs possible, if there were some way to also defeat bosses without violence.

Oh!! I'm glad yu took an interest in mine! I do plan on making a thirstchasm like dungeon crawler in the future! Also, i found a really good tool you could use to make animations smoother! It uses AI to make animations smoother, like transforming a 30fps animation into a 60fps one!

Holy s*** this look's to good to be true, Im gonna check it out right away.
Okay so I am gonna be the only one that gives an honest critique.
SO.. this game as it is is a good proof of concept but with out some smoothing out we will have a tedious experience. The lizards that crawl on all fours have a bullshit and near impossible to dodge tongue attack. If you wish to keep that make it slower or more of a stun thing than actual damage. I suggest making it a non damage stun because enemies rush up at you already. So it would make it a nuisance still but more fair. Or, rather make a dodge move. A dodge ability is used in tones of these kinds of games. Like in that Night in the Woods mini game.. Demon Tower, it is similar to this game, and there is a dodge move there. It is super useful, I highly recommend it. And for the bipedal lizards that throw slow arrows.. their stun window for the grapple is way.. WAY too short.. almost didnt find their scene cause of that. And as for the combat.. only being able to attack in four directions really hinders it I feel. Since all the sprites can move at diagonals I would suggest giving us the ability to attack diagonally. Also minor complaint here but I would suggest a 'skip scene' button so players arent stuck watching a sex scene when toppled for the billionth time. The press space to continue only seemed to progress the scene when it 'felt' like it. Oh and as always I suggest adding some cheats in the later versions, maybe a gallery unlock cheat for the yiff enthusiasts or something like.. slutty armor that just is skimpy? There's ideas for cheats, I miss old school cheats.
But yeah thats basically my list of complaints and what could be done to fix some of those and a suggestion as well. I hope you take the critiques and use them to refine this game and actually make it something great or maybe even much better than Thirstchasm.
Edit: Oh yeah thought I should mention this, but in porn games I feel like the porn, like in Thirstchasm, shouldn't kill you and be more of a fun distraction. Cause why make it a porn game if you discourage the porn? And while its nice that dom animations dont drain health, I am sure most people would prefer to see the cat get banged.
Oh I love honest critique and thank you for thinking so much about it and writing it down. I will say something to everything you mentioned, so prepare for a looong response...
The lizard tongue attack.... Trust me, I suffered the most from it and changed the behavior a few times. This is a balancing thing, where I don't put so much focus on atm, because everything can still change like the player movement speed for example, a bit faster and the tongue attack is a joke, a bit slower and it's unavoidable, right now it is doable. When everything in the first floor is done, I will polish the balancing, because then I know what abilities are obtainable and what options do the player have to counter those "pain in the ass" tongue attack's. Having them stun the player, is a good idea. Yes I think I will implement that for the next version. Maybe you made it worse... ^^"
An ability like block or roll is already planed for the neutral skill tree, and you can already block some projectiles with the sword.
Yep the lizard-archer stun is to short and it will be longer in the next version.
Diagonal attacking and moving is something I would like to have already done by now, but what hindered me is the sprite work that needs to be done for it, but it will come.
A skip button is also a good idea, will be done.
The sex scenes have weird timers that need to pass,for the continue function to work, I coded some crap together there... To be honest, Im happy that they don't crash anymore or loop endlessly. They will be polished soon, because Im better now, yay!
Cheats to unlock the gallery?! This is something you need to work hard for, at least with downloading the save file from another website!
Maybe I will add some funny cheats, or a cheat version for patrons with a little advantage.
The thirst for more games like Thirstchasm, inspired me to do this in the first place.
The porn is not supposed to discourage the player, but I know what you mean. There are many games, where u have to lose to every enemy, to see every scene with game over screens and so on... It is.. super annoying in hard games.
The porn you get in my game will depend in your playstyle, so if you go the submissive way, getting toppled will give you more and more benefits, but dominating enemy's will get harder and harder and the other way around. This will give the game more replay value.
Oh and prethzy is a wolf with a cat's tail. This will all come more clear when I get the story done.

I have an interesting bug, where I don't move, but I can still turn. I have checked key bindings and it is normal, no flickering though
If you have a controller plugged in that may be causing it, it won't accept WASD to move if you do.

Yup, the main reason, Im doing the game like this is, because the most erotic action games are jump & rum platformer or RPG's. They are great, but I enjoy games with a high replay value much more, especially when it comes to erotic games. I wish I had a randomizer for those, like this.

But one Bug report here: You can't save keybinds! And you forgot to add the cast input into the control config :3 It just chooses D for that instead (no idea why)

Gamemaker seems to pick something at random if the key isn't bind yet, for me its always key number 2.
It should all be fixed now. The new version is up and I also added an acknowledging sound for the save button. :>

I've encountered the same problem as Lone Wanderer - the character won't move, the game flickers every other frame, as well as the mini map ( if I press a buton it flickers between a skill tree ) and the character attacks on its own, sometimes it disappears too. idk what I should try
There was a bug, that put all key bindings onto one key, when you start the game for the first time, but this should be fixed. You can change the key bindings in the option menu, the arrow keys should always work, for the main menu to navigate. The character should only flicker, when he gets hit, that's the hurtflashing, to show that he got damaged. Right now, I have no idea what causes the flickering of the whole game & mini map, the problem is, that I can't reproduce and debug the issue, because it doesn't happen on the devices me & friends are using. Maybe leaving fullscreen with alt+return helps. I will upload a new version, in a few days, where I changed how the game handles the view, that follows the player around, also some new wall tiles & traps, maybe this fixes the issue. Thanks for your feedback!
I found the bug that caused the flickering and wrong controls. You can download the new file and everything should work normally. If the issue persist please go into C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Sharpest_Dungeon and delete the settings.ini file.
Also added traps, some new tiles and different sprites for boarder walls and pillars.
The game doesn't actually work for me. After setting my controls on the screen the game flickers every other frame between some sort of menu and the main top-down view. I cannot move and I cannot make this flickering stop.
My OS is Win7 if that is of any relevance.
Sorry to hear that, Im using Win7 on PC and laptop as well and can't reproduce the issue. Can you tell me what graphic card you're using? You could also try to play it in window mode or re enter fullscreen afterwards with ALT+Return, maybe this fixes the issue.
Hey there, I retried once the .zip was made available because I didn't want to seem like I was just there to give a hard time. Unfortunately I am now running into the same issue as Lone Wanderer. My OS is Win10 and I have an integrated AMD Radeon graphics processor (0x130f)
I fixed the flickering, that happened on some systems. Please try the new version.
Nothing will allow me to open this file due to everything detecting it as a Trojan virus. Please err on the side of caution, if this is a game that you've struggled and spent time making, maybe try and see why it's being detected like this. I can't recommend downloading this title until said issue is fixed.
It's not my job to sort out any tech related issues of course, but I do see false positives quite a bit when it comes to indie games. Even Ren'Py games get detected as false positives by some very aggressive anti-virus softwares.
The file is an installer for a game made in the Game Maker engine and my anti-virus (Avast) didn't detect anything. What might have thrown off your anti-viruses is that it's an installer and not the actual raw files.
If this weren't the in-house Gamer Maker installer I personally wouldn't have played the game either, so I recommend the author to not use the installer or also add the option to download the files directly.

I do have a fair bit of experience with them, but I've never had all of my anti-viruses yell at me quite that loudly before for downloading an .exe for an indie game, so it did make me a little concerned about going ahead. That being said I can safely say now, not a virus.
The game was made on the old GameMaker version 1.4, I will switch to GameMaker 2 soon and hope that this will magically fix the issue, because I have no idea why it detects it as a Trojan virus. For now, I will upload the game files as well, to let the people decide what to download. Hope this fixes it for you.
